What Does RWS Cost?
The Restrict with Stripe plugin is open source, free to install, and free to use.
Neither this plugin or Stripe has any setup or monthly fee. There are fees applied to every transaction.
The typical total of all fees for one-time payments is $0.29 + 4.9% of the amount billed.
The typical total of all fees for recurring subscription payments is $0.29 + 5.6% of the amount billed.
The actual value will vary depending on the payment method used, your specific Stripe settings, and your individual agreement with Stripe.
This 4.9-5.6% value is what you will want to compare to any other plugin, service, SAAS, or platform you are considering for accepting payments to restrict your content. Make sure that the numbers you compare include all related fees associated with every transaction.
Below is a break down of some of the components that go into the cumulative fees applied when using Restrict with Stripe.
The base Stripe fees are $0.29 + 2.9% of the transaction. Learn more about Stripe pricing here.
The Stripe Billing feature, which Restrict with Stripe uses, adds an additional 0.7% fee to recurring subscriptions. Some systems avoid this fee by only processing one off payments and handling the scheduling locally. In our experience, Stripe’s ability to ensure that recurring payments are successful more than makes up for this fee. Learn more about Stripe Billing pricing here.
An additional 2% “application fee” is added to every transaction. This fee goes to Stranger Studios, the developers of Restrict With Stripe, to help support ongoing development.
Restrict With Stripe is Open Source Software
Restrict With Stripe is distributed under the GPLv3 license. This means, among other things, that you may use the software on any site free of charge.
